South African-based stone fabricator Cannata and Canadian interior designer Maia Roffey of Black Sheep Interior Design have elegantly combined tradition with modernity to create the Fiamma Nera Fireplace Collection
that uses the very latest in terrazzo styles. 
 

The terrazzo used in the production of this collection is resin-free and heat resistant, making it perfect for high-heat applications. Fiamma Nera consists of 4 designs: Verona, Mantua, Roma and Venezia, with each available in 2 sizes and 2 finishes (giving buyers 16 possibilities to choose from). The team have thought of everything: from North American fireplace regulatory guidelines, to filler kits in matching materials; together with easy specification and installation, these details make Fiamma Nera a win-win for the designers and homeowners alike. 
 

“The profiles we’ve developed are quite special. Most ready-made mantle options are either very traditional or aggressively contemporary. I think the combination of our profiles and materials plays a balancing act between something rooted in tradition, but with a quirky personality that doesn’t take itself too seriously”, says Roffey.
